As many of you may know Rachel Hollis is currently promoting a Last 90 Day challenge – which I LOVE! Her whole focus is to commit to living the last 90 days of the year as hard as one may commit to living the first 30 days of the New Year. Instead of a slack or lazy glide into 2019, let’s go in full speed! As we approach a New Year I want to challenge you to think about your current habits and I want to share with you five habits that I’ve implemented in my life.

Just know it takes time to create habits. Anywhere from 30 days to 90 days…it takes time! Here is a list of five habits I put into practice daily that have drastically changed my life;

1. Morning routine
I wake up at 4:30 AM, workout between 5:00 – 5:30, from there I have quiet time until my nanny arrives at 7 AM and I start my morning. It allows me to get my mind in the space it needs to be in. Exercise, for me, is such a powerful tool for stress and anxiety and it’s also a really powerful tool for finding clarity and getting incredible ideas. For me, when I workout first thing in the morning, I’m on fire! Like, I am ready to set the world on fire! I feel more energized; far more energized than if I slept a little longer in the morning.

It’s not always easy, and I’ll be the first one to tell you I fall off the bandwagon at times. Brush it off, and come back stronger. Once you allow yourself to get attached to the outcome, that’s when you’re going to see lasting results.

2. Set business hours
The sales industry never stops. Set expectations of when you’re going to be available and when you’re not going to be available. It’s within any service-based business or sales industry, you have to set expectations. Once you set those expectations, you can create whatever schedule you want to create.

Think about what you want to have in your life and what’s going to support you and your happiness, and then fit your business into your life. Work is backward versus trying to fit your life into your business.

3. Time blocking
Time block is very, very, very important when we have so many different distractions, dings, minutes, text messages, emails, Facebook Messenger and all the different things; I shut that shit down. I’m in my business, I’m working on my business.

Be crystal clear on where your focus and energy needs to be, you have to be able to say no to the other things and not feel that guilt and shame. Just know that this is what you need to be focusing on and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Shut your emails down. Time block your time! Work on the things that are going to move your business forward and just be mindful of that and see where you have extra time in your day. I guarantee you, you will find so much more time if you had to set very strict parameters around your business hours. 4. Education & Growth
I love to learn and I also think that it’s extremely important to constantly be learning and growing and how to become better at all the things. You need to constantly be in this place of, “what can I learn and how do I become better?” It’s not just working in your business, it’s also taking that time out to work on your business. Work on you and work on your business.

I would not be where I am today if I was not consistently going to conferences, traveling to mastermind groups, learning different techniques, seeing other top producers in other markets and implementing new ideas.

5. Pleasure & Self-Care
Self-care, you can put so much underneath that. I already talked about how working out is such a must in my life. I think we all could be on antidepressants and anxiety medicine in today’s world. It’s a fast pace and there’s medicine for everything. I could also be on them, but I’m not. I choose to find other outlets to release what I need to release and I get that it’s not the same for everybody, but working out, running, if I have a lot of overwhelming built up, I might go for two runs during the day.

Make it a priority to make time for yourself. When you give your body and mind a chance to regroup you will be surprised at the energy and mindset that you bring back to your business.

As we approach the New Year I hope you too will carry out habits in your life to help you and your business. And even if you fall off the wagon, get right back up because it’s literally an addiction with an incredible outcome. I just want you to know, it has taken me years of practice, years of self-discipline and doing these things, making non-negotiable for myself to create this habit in my life.
