What are your non-negotiables? If you’ve been following me for a while, you will know that habits have been huge in helping me to grow my business. I’ve talked about exercise and nourishing my body. But what I want to talk about today is the basics. The foundation when it comes to your a business in sales.
It’s no secret that whatever business we are in, we all want ore clients, right? We all want to make more money. But if there is one thing I’ve learnt, it’s that there aren’t shortcuts. There is grit. There is doing the work.
So what it really comes down to in the sales industry, is consistency. This IS the secret. This IS the magic. I’ve been hearing the same thing over and over again from mentors for many years now. Whether they are in coaching or real estate…whatever kind of sales it is, they have a regiment. They have their non-negotiables.
One of my friends and mentors, Caleb Pearson and I recently had a discussion where he let me in on his non-negotiables. Every single day he wakes up at 4.30 am, reads until 5.00 am, goes to the gym and then has his entire team in the office calling at 7.00 am. As a team, they call the same types of leads, at the same time, every single day. EVery day. They don’t skip out. They don’t make exceptions. That is their culture and it’s what he believes has gotten them to the top of their market.
For me, my morning routine is everything. I exercise every day, I do my meditations and envision my goals. My nanny gets to the house at 7.00 am and my work day starts, but I don’t turn on my emails until 10.00 am to ensure that my important tasks are done before I go into reaction mode. And this is my routine every single morning. My team is the same way and I truly believe that this is the key to success.
Find the non-negotiables in your industry. Find the tasks – the gritty, not fun tasks that you know you have to do in order to get to the next level. Prioritize them as the first thing you do when you get out of bed or into the office.
I guarantee you, it will change your business.
